This is my entry for 
's Creature Contest. I never knew it would be so hard to think of something decent! It took me days of looking around in my room - until I laid eyes on the nailbrush in my bathroom which for some reason reminded me of a bug-like animal. Sooo here you go, the Nailbrug!
In case you can't read my crappy handwriting, this is what it says:
- only active in the dark
- lives preferably in bathrooms where it eats dead organic material and small arthropods
- likes it warm and moist
- comes in various plain colors; legs and nettles always a bright, greyish tone
- not very social, fight for territories (with this I basically mean that they're loners; once a rival gets into another nailbrug's territory they will fight; the winner owns the territory and the loser has to leave and find a different place)
- live up to seven years
shiny, chitineous body
walks like a millipede; legs doing "waves" from back to front
legs are attached in pairs
stiffens when light is switched on
nettles on its back grow in small groups; defense against foes attacking from above
tiny "bubble" on top of nettles, protected by a very thin skin and filled with a harmless but burning/itching liquid; broken skinn grows back within a couple of hours (they break when touched)

That is absolutely revolting, but true. Bathrooms really are breeding grounds for parasites and other nasty things.
Haha, very clever design! I'm particularly fond of those creepy little legs and antenna.
I'm considering the human race extremely lucky that these don't exist in the real world. Can you imagine seeing this thing scuttle around in the dark then turn on the lights only to see this bizarre-looking insectoid thing sitting on your bathroom counter? Sure gives me chills just thinking about it.
And those boils and rashes the nettles give you look excruciatingly painful.
I just have a question about these little creepy crawlers.
You said they're territorial so they'll fight. How exactly do they fight?
